Congratulations to long time member Rolando R. Tafolla on becoming Sheriff of Bexar County. We are proud of you and the leadership you provide to our chapter and the Sheriff's Office.
Also congratulations to SA Chapter President Ruben Garcia on being promoted to Chief Deputy with the Bexar County Sheriff's Office.
Congratulations to Manuel Longoria who became Deputy Chief of the Criminal Warrants Division of the Bexar County Sheriff's Office. He is a retired Assistant Chief of SAPD with many years of experience in Law Enforcement and Administration.
SA Chapter VP Rudy Gonzales was promoted from Deputy Chief to Assistant Chief of the Administration Bureau of the San Antonio Police Department. In addition, Rudy recieved a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Latinos in Action National Hispanic Sports Association on March 2, 2007 at their award banquet.
EISD Officers Ramon Rivera and Albert Salazar recieved the 2006 Medal of Valor presented at the National Conference in Las Vegas. These Officers were nominated by Chapter President Ruben Garcia.
FBI Academy
Congratulations to member Don Tijerina (Lt. BCSO) for being accepted to the FBI academy and is currently attending the academy from September to December of 2007.
Also Joe Banales attended the FBINAA 2007 Conference in Phoeniz Arizona.
HAPCOA 2007 Gil Pompa Special Recognition Award

Newest Members
Our newest members to the SA Chapter are: Bexar County Sheriff's Office-
Lt. Michael Pesses, Sgt. Yvonne Villarreal and Sgt. Jose Trevino. Retired Secret Service Agent Jesse Rodriguez is also a new member. The members attending the regular meeting welcomed them to the San Antonio Chapter of HAPCOA.
Community Support
The San Antonio Chapter annually provides sponsorship to other non-profit organizations to include the 100 Club who is responsible for helping the families of slain police and firefighters. Our hearts go out to the family of SAPD Detective Mario Moreno who gave the ultimate sacrifice for the citizens of San Antonio. We salute you Mario and you will never be forgotten!
HAPCOA 2007 Medal of Meritorious Service
John T. Mendoza Jr. with AFOSI was awarded Hapcoa's Medal of Meritorious Service at the National Conference in Las Vegas Nevada for his service in Iraq. He was awarded the Bronze Star, the Army Combat Action Badge and the Purple Heart. He is currently transfering his Hapcoa Membership from the Gulf Chapter to the San Antonio Chapter. Congratulations John.
