If any HAPCOA members did not make it to the Christmas Dinner, you missed a very nice time and a great meal. The drawing for the raffle was held last night and these are the winners:
1st place winner - ( HD-TV ) Tony Lopez ticket sold by Sheriff Rolando Tafolla
2nd place winner - ($500 gift card) Paul Chapa ticket sold by Capt Paul Chapa
3rd place winner - (BBQ Grill) Angie Saldana sold by Chief Charlie Pena
None of the winners was present at the drawing, but they were notified to claim their prize.

Member Achievements
Congratulations to long time member Rolando R. Tafolla on becoming Sheriff of Bexar County. We are proud of you and the leadership you provide to our chapter and the Sheriff's Office.
Also congratulations to SA Chapter President Ruben Garcia on being promoted to Chief Deputy with the Bexar County Sheriff's Office.
Congratulations to Manuel Longoria who became Deputy Chief of the Criminal Warrants Division of the Bexar County Sheriff's Office. He is a retired Assistant Chief of SAPD with many years of experience in Law Enforcement and Administration.
SA Chapter VP Rudy Gonzales was promoted from Deputy Chief to Assistant Chief of the Administration Bureau of the San Antonio Police Department. In addition, Rudy recieved a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Latinos in Action National Hispanic Sports Association on March 2, 2007 at their award banquet.
EISD Officers Ramon Rivera and Albert Salazar recieved the 2006 Medal of Valor presented at the National Conference in Las Vegas. These Officers were nominated by Chapter President Ruben Garcia.
FBI Academy
Congratulations to member Don Tijerina (Lt. BCSO) for being accepted to the FBI academy and is currently attending the academy from September to December of 2007.
Also Joe Banales attended the FBINAA 2007 Conference in Phoeniz Arizona.

Our newest members to the SA Chapter are: Bexar County Sheriff's Office-
Lt. Michael Pesses, Sgt. Yvonne Villarreal and Sgt. Jose Trevino. Retired Secret Service Agent Jesse Rodriguez is also a new member. The members attending the regular meeting welcomed them to the San Antonio Chapter of HAPCOA.
Community Support
The San Antonio Chapter annually provides sponsorship to other non-profit organizations to include the 100 Club who is responsible for helping the families of slain police and firefighters. Our hearts go out to the family of SAPD Detective Mario Moreno who gave the ultimate sacrifice for the citizens of San Antonio. We salute you Mario and you will never be forgotten!
HAPCOA 2007 Medal of Meritorious Service
John T. Mendoza Jr. with AFOSI was awarded Hapcoa's Medal of Meritorious Service at the National Conference in Las Vegas Nevada for his service in Iraq. He was awarded the Bronze Star, the Army Combat Action Badge and the Purple Heart. He is currently transfering his Hapcoa Membership from the Gulf Chapter to the San Antonio Chapter. Congratulations John.

Next Regular Meeting in January 2008
Regular Monthly Meetings are held the last Wednesday of every month - Due to the Chapter's Christmas Dinner on the 19th of December, there will be no regular meeting in December. Next meeting is January 30th, 2008 at 5:30 pm at Beethoven Hall(422 Pereida St.)
The meeting place is in the King William area of San Antonio. Anyone needing information can call David Salinas at 210-669-6380.
Last Raffle Fundraiser for 2007
The Raffle Fundraiser is currently underway and the winning tickets will be drawn at the San Antonio Chapter of Hapcoa Christmas Dinner at Waterstreet on Wednesday December 19, 2007. Committee chairperson Diane Lorenz issued raffle tickets to members of the Chapter. First Prize is a 42" Toshiba Flat Panel Plasma HD TV, second prize is a visa gift card valued at $500 and third prize is a nice bar-b-que pit valued at over $200. Raffle tickets can be purchased for $10 for one or $20 for three from any member. Any one interested in purchasing a ticket(s) can call David Salinas at 210-669-6380.
Chapter Christmas Dinner 2007
The Chapter Christmas Dinner will be held on December 19th, 2007 in the private room at Waterstreet Oyster Bar located at 7500 Broadway(corner of Basse Rd.) Mark your calendars. Our raffle winners will be announced that night. Lacks donated a TV for our grand prize of our raffle and we thank them for that. We will have cocktails at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7:30 p.m. The chapter will cover members in good standing. Members who bring a guest will have to pay $25 at the door to cover the cost of their meal. Please RSVP to David Salinas at 210-669-6380 or via email to SCTC_hapcoa@yahoo.com as we need to provide a final number to the restaurant prior to that date. There will be plenty of door prizes.
